We experienced full blue moon phenomenon last year, on May 18, 2019. This natural event occur once, every 2-3 years, which gave rise to the phrase, Once In A Blue Moon, which means an event that is rarely happen.
Cool
as a Cucumber
The phrase is originated from the fact that cucumber can holds up to 90% water as its body weight and even in a hot whether, the inside of the cucumber are still 20 degree cooler than the outside air.
A
Rotten Apple Spoils
the Barrel
These applies to people which always brings a negative vibe or bad influenced to others. The fact is, rotten fruits really do spoil the whole bunch. The reason is, as they ripen, they produced gaseous hormone called ethylene which is a ripening agent. When you put them together with fresh fruits, the ethylene gas will be emitted thus, ripening the others faster.
Ethylene
Who said idioms is just a linguistic plays? Its not even rocket science to understand all of them. It's just as easy as a pie. Have a great day ahead!
